- 569 BIOSes
- 569i03.zip - Oldest online BIOS revision.
- 569i05.zip - Added support for 3.2V when power on.
- 569wiq07.zip - Added HOLCO jumperless.
- 569wiq09.zip - Added support for new ITE 8679F,8680F (Version F) chip.
- 569wiq0a.zip - Not on the server. Added support for:
- AMD K6 233MHz at 2.2V
- WARNING: If you put one of the newer low voltage K6 chips (Model 7) into the 569, but don't have BIOS version 569wiq0a or later installed, the voltage autodetect will automatically give this chip either 2.9 or 3.2 volts. It's supposed to get 2.2v CORE. Leaving it like this will quickly kill the CPU. Or in some cases, the computer may simply not come on. So you'll have to either set the voltage manually or upgrade your BIOS before installing the chip.
- Note that some people still have problems with the auto-voltage detect even with the 569wiqaa BIOS. You may need to set the voltage manually for the 2.2v AMD K6 and K6-2 chips.
- 75MHz and 83MHz DMI CPU speeds
- Selectable IRQs for the USB ports
- Iomega ZIP drive
- Greater than 8GB hard drives
- Adds support for Int13h Extensions.
- COM4 for IRQ10
- Auto detect of DIMM/PCI clk
- Proper recognition of the AMD K6-2
- The same voltage setting problem mentioned above also applies to the K6-2 chip.
- DMI support for the AMD K6-2 CPU
- 569wiqaa.zip - Added support for NCR new SymBIOS.
- 569wiq0b.zip - WARNING: Some people have reported problems with how this BIOS revision reports their memory. No longer on the server.
- Adds BIOS support for the upcoming IDT Winchip-2 3D.
- Changed K6-2 identification string from "AMD-K6 3D" to "AMD-K6(tm)-2".
- Adds BIOS support for Cyrix M-II chips.
- Fixes problem involving LAN cards based on the UMC UM9008 chipset.
- Fixes problem with setting COM2 to 2E8/IRQ10, which caused the system to hang on bootup.
- 569wiq0c.zip - Fixes problem with memory SIMM bank 0 mis-reporting. No longer on the server.
- 569wiq0d.zip - Fixes problem with computer hanging when entering 'Standard CMOS Setup' in the BIOS. The error was introduced by revision 569WIQ0c.
- 569wiq0e.zip - Newest online BIOS revision. WARNING: Some people have had problems with their PS/2 mouse after updating with this BIOS revision. Clearing the BIOS (JP40) and setting 'Resources Controlled By' to Auto may clear up this problem.
- Fixes some Y2K problems with an RTC test file.
- Adds support for IDT Winchip-2.
- Adds support for PIIX4E version of the 430TX chipset.
- Adds proper identification for AMD K6-III.
Note: Even though K6-2 chips draw more than 10 amps of power (The 400MHz K6-III draws as much as 12.4 amps), an interposer such as a PowerLeap adapter may be used since it draws its power through a Molex connector.
- Adds support for Cyrix MII?
- Fixed hang when COM2 set to 2E8/IRQ10.
- Fixed LAN card (UMC UM9008F) not connecting to the network when first powering on.
- There is no need to update the BIOS sequentially. The latest revision will include all of the features added in previous updates.
- 569A BIOSes
- 569Awiq1.zip - BIOS revision for the new HOT-569A. Not intended for the original HOT-569. Oldest online BIOS for this motherboard.
- 569Awiq3.zip - Not intended for the original HOT-569.
- Fixes problem with memory SIMM bank 0 mis-reporting.
- 569Awiq5.zip - Adds support for 82371AB and 82371EB chipsets. Not intended for the original HOT-569.
- 569Awiq7.zip - Newest BIOS revision for the new HOT-569A. Not intended for the original HOT-569.
- Fixes support for USB keyboards.
- Fixes some Y2K problems with an RTC test file.
- Fixes shutdown problem when using an ATX power supply under Windows 98.
- Fixes problem with ZIP driver causing a HD failure.
- Adds support for AMD K6-III at 2.3 volts core.
Note: Even though K6-2 chips draw more than 10 amps of power (The 400MHz K6-III draws as much as 12.4 amps), an interposer such as a PowerLeap adapter may be used since it draws its power through a Molex connector. Also, the K6-III is supposed to run at 2.4 volts.
- Adds support for Cyrix MII-366. Strange since the only MII-366 settings run at 75MHz bus or higher.

Thanks to George Gainov for pointing out some errors in the power management section. And to Dwight Davidson for his input on fitting a Voodoo 2 card. And to Per Henden for the tip on using a K6-2 CPU with an interposer to avoid exceeding amperage ratings. And also many thanks to all those who answer questions in the various newsgroups for unwittingly contributing to the information contained on these pages. Your help is appreciated, and not just by those who you directly answer.
