Harry Potter Spelling Quick Reference
A list of all the people, places, and things mentioned in the narrative books up through Deathly Hallows. Information from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Quidditch Through the Ages, as well as the now-defunct Daily Prophet newsletter, is also included. Beware that, unlike other pages on this site, this one does not separate out information that comes from sources other than the narrative books. Unless otherwise noted all spelling, capitalization, and punctuation comes from the U.S. (Scholastic) versions of the books.
Beneath many of the names are how various people refer to them, so Dudley has fourteen different "names". Names in brackets [ ] are their more formal names; titles and jobs held are in parenthesis ( ); transformations (animagus, werewolf, etc.) are in braces { }. Married women are listed under both their husband's last name and their own maiden name (if known), so beware of redundancies. Their full name is in brackets and is the same between the two listings.
